What is your role at Hattaway?
I’m a mixed-methods researcher who helps our clients at Hattaway conduct primary and secondary research to generate audience insights, which helps illuminate their strategic decision-making. I believe that research is valuable only when it’s translated into actionable recommendations that can inform and shape business strategy.
What are you currently working on that you are really passionate about, and why?
I’m excited about a project that just started, during which we will conduct landscape analysis and focus groups to help the client shape the language that will be used to prompt specific demographics in the South to advance racial equity. It will be interesting to learn about these groups’ ambivalence and find a way to motivate them to join this movement.
What is currently igniting your imagination?
I’m interested in learning about social issues. Reading books that talk about issues like gender, race, and immigration helps me better understand what is happening around the world, what I should care about, and, most excitingly, what kind of small changes I can make through my work.
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
On a day I want to spend with myself, I will cook some nice brunch, do some reading, and go for a nice jog as long as the DC weather allows. Whenever I feel like connecting with people, I ask my friends to share dinner or just hang out.
What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Working out, especially the little dance I do at the end, really helps me feel happy and less anxious.
