What is your role at Hattaway? I’m a strategy associate and I work with clients to develop and execute data-driven campaigns. A firm understanding of your audience is necessary for any communications strategy, and I help clients take that a step further. By testing and analyzing campaign tactics, we can better understand their target audiences and achieve their communications goals.

What are you currently working on that you are really passionate about and why? I’m currently working on the EO Equals campaign, which aims to expand the employee ownership movement. Employee ownership is a business model in which employees have an equity stake in the business. It’s one of the best ways to help employees build wealth and create strong sustainable communities. I’m excited that communications can help close the enormous wealth gap that exists in the United States.

What is currently igniting your imagination? Spring! As an outdoor enthusiast, I love being in nature at all times of the year, but there is something special about springtime. Even just opening the windows in my office gets the creative juices flowing.

What originally got you interested in communications? I majored in journalism in college and spent a semester reporting on refugee resettlement in the United States. I interviewed people from all over the world who had spent years in refugee camps, only to be met with less than ideal living conditions in the United States. After graduating, I knew I wanted to use my communications skills to advocate for people whose human and civil rights were in jeopardy.

What’s an essential part of your daily routine? My morning cup(s) of coffee and my evening cup of peppermint tea. My partner calls it my “process” for beginning and ending the day.
